Domestic telecommunication operators Myanmar Posts and Telecommunications (MPT) and Yadanapon Teleport, have said that it will be a big challenge for domestic operators to compete with foreign ones.

They made the remark in the ‘Myanmar Connect 2013’ held at the MICC hall in Naypyitaw on September 10. They said that they are already facing challenges related to lack of adequate human resources.

Kyaw Soe Win, General Manager of the Myanmar Post and Telecommunications said that they are installing 4G internet network at SEA Games venues in Yangon, Mandalay, Naypyitaw and Ngwe Saung beach.

The service would be available only during the SEA Games and within the venues.

The Myanmar Telecommunication and Post (MPT) will replace mobile network for three million users in Yangon and Naypyidaw during the 2013-2014 fiscal year, to improve radio communication network.

The MPT announced that they will carry out the project in collaboration with Huawei Company.
