MSF opens nation’s largest clinic for HIV/AIDS, drug-resistant TB

The largest clinic in Myanmar for treating HIV/AIDS and drug resistant tuberculosis has been officially opened in Yangon’s Insein Township by the international medical humanitarian organisation, Medecins Sans Frontieres.

The Department of Rural Development has earmarked funds to redevelop one poor township each from the Mandalay and Bago regions, and Mon, Kayin, Kachin and Kayah states in 2015, the department’s deputy director, U Hla Khaing told Mizzima on December 15.
Ayeyar Hinthar Company will buy 100 megawatts of electrical power from Thailand in 2015, U Ye Min Aung, the managing director of the Ayeyar Hinthar Company told Mizzima on December 11.
The World Bank approved a US$100 million (K100 billion) credit from the International Development Association to improve the management and development of the Ayeyarwady River Basin and national water resources in Myanmar, said a press release on December10.
