Australian experts are assisting in a new four-year study of domestic livestock in central Myanmar that will help tailor policies and services to better develop this critical sector, one of the government’s leading veterinarians said.
The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation will spend US$12 million to build or upgrade 50 schools and clinics in impoverished Mon and Karen States by 2015, it said.

Authorities have determined the areas of concentration for the National Strategic Plan for the Advancement of Women (NSPAW) and have assigned relevant duties to participating organizations, Aung Tun Khaing, Deputy Director General of the Department of Social Welfare within the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, told Mizzima.
At a press conference held on 4 October at Yangon Technological University, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) chairman Dr. Akihiko Tanaka told domestic media houses that JICA would contribute approximately US$910 million in aid to Myanmar.
