A bomb weighing 1,000 pounds (453 kg) and is believed to have been dropped in the World War-II has been found under sand bank of Pyu creek in Myanmar's Bago region recently, official media reported Wednesday.

The bomb was discovered while digging sand in the creek near Pyuchaung railroad by local people in the weekend.

With the help of a couple of cows, 15 people managed to pull the over-1-meter-long bomb out of the sand, the report said.

The bomb, marked  with GP-1000 KLM 65 Loy MPF 8, has been transferred to the police authorities for further action, the report added.
