Two earthquakes jolted parts of Myanmar and Japan with a magnitude of 5 just hours after a 5.5-magnitude earthquake rocked Eastern Visayas in the Philippines early Sunday morning, according to GMA News on December 21.

The US Geological Survey indicated the Myanmar quake had a magnitude of 5.1 with the epicenter traced 76 kilometres north-northeast of Mawlaik, a town over 600 kilometers from Nay Pyi Taw.

Two minutes after the Myanmar quake, USGS recorded at about at 1:39 pm another 5.0 magnitude quake near the Izu Islands off the coast of Tokyo, according to the report.
