A strong 6.6-magnitude earthquake hit Indonesia's Molucca Sea on March 17, the US Geological Survey said, but no tsunami alert was issued and there were no reports of damage.

A 6.6-magnitude undersea earthquake hit central Indonesia on February 27, the US Geological Survey said, but there was no tsunami alert and no immediate reports of damage or casualties.

Two earthquakes jolted parts of Myanmar and Japan with a magnitude of 5 just hours after a 5.5-magnitude earthquake rocked Eastern Visayas in the Philippines early Sunday morning, according to GMA News on December 21.
The recent seismic activity from the Sagaing and Inle faults may lead to an increased number of minor earthquakes across Myanmar, Dr Win Swe, chair of the Myanmar Earthquake Committee told Mizzima on November 28.
